Last day of spring

Finally summer temps arrive on the last day of spring! We had been waiting for quite some time now to have a warm enough day to fill Quinton's first backyard pool and see what the out come would be. He loved it of course I think he's part amphibian or something he played in there for over an hour at least. I even got my feet wet and I have to admit it was kinda nice to play in the water and cool off at the same time. Quinton and I tried to get Max our dog in there but he just was not having that so instead Quinton ended up chasing him around the yard and trying to pour water on him. I think a lot of summer days are going to be centered around the purple plastic elephant pool for us.

Q turns 2!

This April 21st Quinton turned the big 2! No longer could he be considered a baby or inbetween baby and toddler( a.k.a taby). Yes quite a big boy now. Luke and I were a little sad but mostly we were in shock that it's already been two years since we became parents and responsible for another human being who is still alive and well. We must be doing something right. So instead of doing a large party we kept it low key with grandma Pam, grandpa Dan, grandma Ardis, Uncle Decker, Aunt Patricia, and cousin Elise. First we tried a restaurant called Buffalo Wild Wings out, it seemed a good spot for the kids, next we were on to Luke's parents house for cake, then came gift opening time, of course sugar high explosion playtime between the two kids, and as a night cap the coming down off the sugar high goodbyes. I tried to make sure to capture every single one of these moments and post them for everyone to see. Enjoy, we did.

Cousin Elise enjoying dinner with dad(Uncle Decker).

Quinton discovers he has a love for chicken tenders dipped in ketchup on his second birthday! Totally a toddler now.

Quinton was working the whole room including Grandma Ardis, he was hoping he'd be held all night. Grandma fell into his little scheme for a moment there, however he's pretty heavy so it didn't last long.

Family photo opportunity, we don't have many of those come our way with a toddler now a days!

Somebody sure loved his cake this year, especially since it was nothing but pure sugar. Luke and I could almost see the sugar transformation right before our eyes.

What else could he possibly ask for the boy loves balls and balloons imagine his reaction when he saw that there could be a two in one deal. Above are pictures of baseball and soccer ball balloons that ended up being larger than him. He was on cloud nine for the rest of the evening.

Quinton seemed to know just who to go to for help on opening presents(Grandpa Dan).

They seemed pretty enthralled with one particular gift given by one of Quinton's friends.

This is what is left of the two of them after the sugar shock wears off and it is time to go home to bed. Ahh the fun they had, the memories they'll share, and the crying that will occur when it's time to leave.

Practice Makes Perfect

Uh oh! Only seven more days until the big 2 strikes Quinton! So we had to do some quick baking so he could practice for his birthday. We baked 24 cupcakes and he had to start eating right away so that way he's ready for next Tuesday. He's not really going to eat all 24 though, I think dad and mom are going to have to help a little. The way he dove right into it though makes me believe he will definitely have it down by the 21st.

Easter with Avery

Gosh where do I begin it's been so long since we've blogged apparently time is just getting away from me. Well this Easter we spent at Luke's Aunt Gail's house and what a great time we had. As you can plainly see Quinton seem to have just as much of a good time too with his cousin Avery. These two enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air on Easter Sunday! The picture above shows them trying to figure out how to ride the purple bike together. Quinton also seem to like pushing Avery around on a wagon, Avery didn't appear to mind either. Well there definitely shall be more Quinton adventures on the way in the near future since this is the big birthday month! We'll keep you posted y'all!

Farewell for now

Last Saturday was Quinton's last Toddlers' In Action class. All of the parents seemed a little low over it including us. Quinton had really just seemed to get into the groove of it all the last few classes. The last day he and the little girl in the striped dress above held a little jibber jabber session together, we think he had a crush. Luckily he has a new friend named Aiden who appears in the second to last picture facing Quinton while they're both trying to reach for the bubbles. This Saturday Aiden, his mom, and I have planned a new adventure to keep them buisy until we can enroll for the new classes. The picture that shows Quinton on a carpet square is proof that he was starting to get into it, that was his assigned square for the duration of the class. He would run over to it in the end without us directing him or anything!

Best of Buds

Last Thursday our friend Erin, her son Reed, Quinton, and I decided to take a little trip to the mall. In the mall was a carousel and a play area. We decided the boys should test it out and see if it was to their liking. I think it passed the Quinton test for sure however Erin and I both felt it was a little fast. I was surprised I could even walk straight after that ride. The play area was a definite success in both parent and child's eyes! After all that excitement both Reed and Quinton seemed hungry so we sat down and had some lunch together. At lunch Quinton had some grapes and crackers that he shared with his buddy Reed. Quinton doesn't just share his grapes with just anyone either. I have to admit these two are pretty cute together!

Presidents' Day

How lucky we were able to have spent the day with cousin Elise and Grandma Pam on Presidents' Day. When Grandpa Dan stopped in that day everyone else in the room seem to disappear except Grandpa in Quinton's eyes. Dan is the new it guy in Quinton's world. Quinton wouldn't even let him eat his lunch without sharing. Elise got in on it too that day. Dan had to be starving later on thanks to these two.
